Advanced Nurse Practitioner Job - Alaska Radiology Associates, Anchorage AK

Job qualifications Education: Master of Science in Nursing Experience: hospital or acute care required, radiology background a plus Licensure/Certification: either ANCC or AANP. Other Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, DEA
Procedures (On the job training offered for qualified candidates) Fluoro or ultrasound guided procedures: upper GI, small bowel follow thru, barium swallow, modified barium swallows, barium enema, VCUG, HSG, paracentesis/thoracentesis, lumbar puncture under fluoro guidance, ductograms, mylograms, joint injections, tunneled catheter and tunneled port removal. Patient Care
• Pre-op and Post-op rounds on patients
• See patients in interventional clinic
• Telephone/Personal counseling of patients
• Patient advocacy with insurance companies
• Patient education/teaching
• Consenting patients
• Patient education and discharge instructions
• History and physicals on inpatients/outpatients that are having radiology and cathlab procedures.
• Progress notes
• Discharge summaries

Other Duties Include:
• Communicates with physicians and other members of the team concerning patient status, diagnosis, or related information
• Communicates with ARA members by regular participation in staff and department meetings
• Assist in preparing for conferences such as cancer conferences and may attend them along with the radiologist (if possible)
• Arranging meetings with medical reps.

Work hours: M-F 7:30 – 4:30; no weekend, holidays or call. Reports to: President of Alaska Radiology Associates Supervises: n/a; works with two additional ANP’s Primary work location: Providence Medical Center, Department of Radiology Secondary work location: Outpatient imaging office
