Osirix is an image processing software dedicated to DICOM images produced by medical equipment (MRI, CT, PET, PET-CT, …) and confocal microscopy (LSM and BioRAD-PIC format). It can also read many other file formats: TIFF (8,16, 32 bits), JPEG, PDF, AVI, MPEG and QuickTime.

Researchers have found that PET may become one of the most preferred imaging methods for the individualized therapy mainly for disorders which are caused by addictive behaviours. Researchers who use positron emission tomography (PET) have recently validated the well known theory that individual personality traits like reward dependency is connected to brain chemistry.

FUJIFILM Medical Systems, USA has clinched a fresh, three-year, dual-source contract. This contract was awarded to them by Premier Purchasing Partners, L.P for complete assortment of medical film and imagers, including mammography film, conventional wet film, dry film, and the complete set of laser imagers.

Virtual Radiologic Corp (VRAD) reported a multi-year agreement with “Lion City Radiology of Singapore” to provide interpretations of MRI and CT for all the imaging centres which are affiliated with Lion City Radiology in Singapore and UAE (United Arab Emirates).
