Connecting Radiology for Networking, Collaboration, and Education

Spectus3D. Created for a Medical Physics Computing M.Sc. project at the University of Aberdeen (Summer 2006).

Volume Rendering is performed here through the method of texture mapped, intersecting, orthogonal slices aligned with the volume.

It can display volumes in both orthographic and perspective projections and in a range of pseudo colours.

Tested on Windows XP and Linux. Coded in Java and uses Java3D. Seen here running on a 1.2 GHz machine with only an Intel integrated graphics chip.
